Dame Kelly Holmes comes to Halls Green
The team at Rock UK Halls Green were delighted to host Dame Kelly Holmes and her team from the DKH Legacy Trust, “On Camp with Kelly” and “Double Gold” for their team away day that took place earlier this week.
As part of our team building offering the team chose to take part in some raft building. This started by them having to take part in an orienteering challenge to find and retrieve all raft building equipment from around the site at Halls Green. Then they had to build their rafts with logs, ropes and barrels and then attempt to transport seven of the team from the banks of our lake to a small island in the middle and back again, without any of them falling in! Of course to make it more exciting we set it up as a race which meant rafts were put together too quickly and the end result being inevitable – 14 people wet and muddy after falling off broken rafts!
The teams admitted valuable lessons were learnt and standing back and making sure you see the bigger picture is very important and racing to get finished first is not always the best approach!
We were delighted to host them and we look forward to welcoming them again very soon.
