Rock UK Whithaugh Park hosts the first 24hr Solo Mountain Bike Race
Rock UK Whithaugh Park was really proud to host the first 24hr Solo Mountain Bike Race that took place in the Scottish Borders on the 22nd and 23rd May 2010.
78 riders competing for the coveted championship jersey across the 4 different classes, plus their support crews, including families and sponsors, all camped out over the weekend at Whithaugh Park. Coupled with some fantastic weather the weekend was an all round success.
Congratulations should go to the following for some amazing biking:
- Matt Page from team Wiggle/Focus for winning the Open Male title
- Rickie Cotter from team WXC for winning the Open Female title
- Keith Forsyth from team Innerleithen MTB Racing for winning the Veteran Male title
- Sally Daw from team Sludge Racing for winning the Veteran Female title
A great weekend was had by all and we hope to be announcing shortly whether Rock UK will be involved in a bigger and better race next year. For all the action have a look at some of the photos from the event here
